A good starting point for any new home renovations
January 15, 2021 | Helen Torris
Often, a homeowner does not know where to start when they want a new project done, so they call a contractor first. A contractor will either throw out a very round number, for which you don't really know what this includes, or they will (rightly) say they cannot possibly price without a drawing. Kitchens and bathrooms particularly, have so many variables involved, it is impossible to estimate without a drawing. By law in NJ, contractors are not allowed to submit permit drawings and they also have no design education, so you need to start with a drawing.
This can throw up a number of other blocks - do you need an architect or a designer or both? Kitchens and bathroom projects have elements of both, and while most architects don't do interior design, most designers don't create plans.
This is where Abode Consulting makes the best first call. With architecture, interior design and project management all offered in one service, you can be given an understanding of what is possible, likely construction costs and best way forward for every budget and home.
Do you have a ton of project ideas and wishlist of needs? No problem! Abode can create a master plan for your home and guide you through the best order in which to achieve them.
